"A responsible man"
Pastor Kasozi Jackson
Ephesians 5:22-24 teaches us about the responsibilities of a man and a woman in marriage. In our generation, men have been called to be diligent workers, as mentioned in Genesis 2:15. The Bible assures us that God will bless the works of our hands, emphasizing the importance of hard work in this generation. Nowadays, it seems that nothing comes for free, and we must rely on our efforts and sweat, knowing that God will bless us.
It is crucial for men to rise up and reclaim their responsibilities. Men cannot rely solely on miracles but should be driven by purpose. The wife expects the husband, as the head of the household, to provide for the family's needs. However, in times of failure, it is essential to learn from those moments and strive to do better.
God has called men to be husbands and take up their responsibilities. They are to be the spiritual and physical leaders of their families, serving as pastors of their homes. Unfortunately, our current society faces confusion, with women identifying as men and men identifying as women. We should look to the courageous and decisive men in the Bible as examples.
Women should support and assist their husbands in fulfilling their purpose, as stated in Proverbs 31:15 and Proverbs 14:1. Marriage should not become a battleground but a place of love and unity. It is essential to evaluate whether love and passion still exist within the relationship and strive to reignite the spark that was present in the earlier days.
While wives should submit to their husbands, it is equally important for the husband to listen to his wife. Submission does not diminish the husband's role as the head of the family. Open communication and understanding are crucial for maintaining a healthy marriage.
In addition to marriage, as the church, we should redirect our focus to loving Jesus more than ever before. Although God has worked miracles in our lives, it is easy to become distracted and lose sight of His love and sovereignty. Many individuals are caught up in the pursuit of wealth and material possessions, neglecting the importance of God's love and the greatness of His authority.
