"Overcoming Fear''
In life, we have moments where fear overcomes us. Many of us have purposes in our lives to live up to, but we allow fear to overpower us and hinder our progress. For example, some of us desire to serve in different ministries, such as the worship team, but we let fear hold us back. We have ideas in our minds, but fear prevents us from taking action.
Some of you may desire to get married, but fear stands in the way. Some of us dream of becoming company or business owners, but fear keeps those dreams only in our minds. There are those who aspire to become homeowners, but fear holds them back.
In 2 Timothy 1:7, we are reminded that we should embrace confidence and overcome fear in order to reach our goals. Additionally, 1 John 4:18 states that there is no fear in love. This reinforces the idea that fear should not control us.
(Pastor Kakooza Saul shares a testimony from his childhood where his family had a large plot of land. However, due to fear of not having immediate financial resources, his father sold the land bit by bit until they were left with just the house they lived in which was also later on sold.)
As children of God, we are called to conquer nations and cities. God has called us to be a great people, as mentioned in 1 John 4:18. Fear brings torment to our hearts, and even though many know Christ, they may not experience true peace.
Many desire to love others, but fear of rejection prevents them from fully expressing themselves. In Isaiah 61:1, we are reminded that fear should not make us doubt our anointing. God loves us and has plans for us."
